Brett Walker Bender is a veteran, scientist, and poet whose work draws from the rigor of intellectual pursuit and the rawness of lived experience. From his youth, Brett has turned to poetry as a way to reconcile discipline with passion and structure with sentiment. His debut poetry collection, "Underfoot", captures a voice forged in textbooks and trenches. When not writing, he can be found studying nature, spending time with his family, or exploring the questions science can’t quite answer. He is currently finishing his second collection of original poetry.
